Contrary to a popular belief, marble is not built for waxing or other coatings; while they may look shiny both will peel off quickly, leaving your surface vulnerable to scratching and an unsightly yellow ish tinge. Our polish is eco-friendly, dust-free and will enrich the color of your stone by enhancing the contrast between the veins! We can achieve different levels of luster, from a matte or honed finish to a high-sheen, whatever your taste.
Tile and grout can very easily become dirty and grimy due to traffic or improper maintenance. Our thorough process will give your floor the deepest clean it has ever had, removing matter that has accumulated over years! We also use acid-free cleaners that are less toxic, avoiding any damage to surrounding metals or materials.
Wine, coffee and rust are among problematic materials that can penetrate the surface of your stone, leaving stains that may never come off without professional help. Sealing helps prevent staining by giving you more time to clean up, and regular sealing will actually preserve the life span of your stone.
Our specialized poultice lifts stubborn stains deep inside stone where conventional methods fail - without damaging the surface. We also use standard methods like grinding or sanding.
With time stone surfaces may develop cracks on the tiles and grout lines which are filled with dirt and grime; chips and holes are safety hazards. When this happens it is common to believe that the tiles need replacing but this is often not necessary. A basic epoxy resin is a cost-effective solution we offer in a wide range of colors sure to match the color of your stone. No more costly installations!
Restoration work is costly. Regular maintenance of your stone or fabric will keep your floors looking great all year round. It is also much cheaper than remedial work. We offer tailored programs to fit your needs and budget; we can individualize contracts or provide a one-time only arrangement.
The restoration process typically evolves grinding the stone to remove any scratches and etch marks caused by acidic products. The whole process is done wet, so its 99.9% dust free.
Any surfaces adjancent to the area we are working are protected with plastic. This includes any cabinets and walls. We always make sure to protect anything that might get dirty or damaged by the water.
Yes. Since our process is dust free it is safe for eveyone to be at home. You just cant be in the area where the actuall work is taking place. For some jobs where an oil based sealer is used we recommend opening the windows during the sealing and for a few hours after however we also have the water based sealers that are low odor and V.O.C. (volatile organic components). All of our sealers are safe to use in food areas.
For most jobs you can walk on the floor as soon we are done. However you must keep the stone free of water until the sealer fully cures. This might take 2 - 48 hours.
Each variety of stone has its own absorbing properties, mostly being fully cured between two and forty eight hours.
The maintenance of the stone depends greatly on the type of stone, usage, walking traffic and products used to keep it cleaned. At the end of each job, TMC provides a guide on stone maintenance plan that is suitable for your needs.
With so many products on the market, it can be a little overwhelming to pick the right one.
I always recomment to check the back of the products and make sure it says safe to use on marble/granite. You can always use a little bit of dishwashing soap (palmolive, ivory) and lukewarm water. If you have a polished stone, dry it with a paper towel to remove any water marks. On another hand we will be launching our own cleaning products very soon and you can be sure they are 100% safe to use.
Any natural stone is porous and is proned to get stain. When spilling anything the best course of action is to clean it right away to prevent it from penetrating the stone. in the case if the stone is stained there are a few ways to remove the stain (grinding it out, cleaners and poultices). The process will depend on the the type of stone and how deep the stain is. Sealing the counters regulary will help prevent the stains to get too deep into the stone.
Here at TMC we want to provide the client the best experience possible when dealing with the restoration process. Thats why decide to specialize on the restoration.
